The Los Angeles Rams could use some help when it comes to their wide receiver corps, especially after injuries took out Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. In this regard, the front office may want to consider pursuing Robert Woods from the Houston Texans.
The Rams are facing a challenging situation as they head into Week 4, grappling with significant injuries to key players. Kupp remains sidelined with an ankle injury, which has left a considerable gap in the Rams’ offensive strategy. Kupp’s absence not only affects the passing game but also puts additional pressure on quarterback Matthew Stafford to find alternative targets.
Adding to their woes, Nacua is also dealing with injury concerns. Despite his impressive start to the season, his health status is uncertain, which further complicates the Rams’ receiving corps. With both Kupp and Nacua potentially unavailable, the Rams may need to rely on lesser-known players to step up.
The current injury report shows that the Rams will likely lean on veterans like Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson, while younger players such as Tutu Atwell could play a crucial role in the receiving game. The coaching staff faces a tough task in adapting their game plan to accommodate these changes and ensure the offense remains competitive.
As the Rams prepare for their upcoming matchup, their ability to overcome these injuries will be critical for their success this season. The team remains hopeful that Kupp and Nacua can return soon, but in the meantime, they must maximize the potential of their remaining roster to keep their postseason aspirations alive. The next few games will be pivotal in determining the Rams’ trajectory as they navigate through this injury-riddled phase.
NFL Analysis Projects Los Angeles Rams to Pursue Houston Texans Wide Receiver Robert Woods
The Rams should make a key move to address their wide receiver problem. In this regard, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox suggested that Woods can be a viable solution to that particular issue.
“Through three games this, the 32-year-old has only caught two passes for 18 yards. He’s set to be a free agent in the spring, and Houston is unlikely to retain him. It has a pair of good young receivers in Nico Collins and Tank Dell, and if the team is eager to bring back an older vet next year, Stefon Diggs will take priority.
The Texans could also save $6.5 million in 2024 cap space by trading Woods.
The USC product would also be a sensible trade target for the Los Angeles Rams, who need receiver help. Woods, who previously spent five seasons with the franchise, could provide it,” Knox wrote.
With Nacua and Cupp sidelined, the Rams might consider trading for Woods, a former player from 2017 to 2021. Currently with the Texans, the wide receiver has seen limited action and could provide valuable depth to Los Angeles’ receiving corps as they navigate injury challenges.
It remains to be seen whether the Rams can actually land Woods or not. In any case, fans of the franchise must keep an eye out on the wide receiver and where he will land in the coming months.
