The Los Angeles Rams and Matthew Stafford have decisions to make about the future. It seems likely that they will remain together for at least one more year, but that is not a guarantee at this point in time.
Stafford is owed $23 million for next season. That number could end up being problematic for the Rams.
With that in mind, an NFL insider has made a major report and prediction about the future between Stafford and Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford Receives Huge Prediction About Future
NFL insider Ian Rapoport has reported that Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams would have to rework his contract if he wants to come back to the team.
“If Stafford is going to come back, they’re gonna have to reach a reworked contract,” Rapoport reported.
Throughout the course of the 2024 NFL season, Stafford showed that he still has a lot of good football left to be played. He ended up playing in 16 games, completing 65.8 percent of his pass attempts for 3,762 yards, 20 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Stafford was able to lead his team to the playoffs.
At 36 years old, Stafford is coming down the final stretch of his career. He can still play at a high level, but he only has a couple of years left.
There is a chance that the Los Angeles Rams could simply choose to move on and start fresh. They are going to need to do that at some point in the near future anyway.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the Rams and Stafford choose to do this offseason. There are other teams around the NFL who could have interest in him if Los Angeles isn’t willing to budge on making him rework his deal.
Expect to hear a lot more about Stafford in the coming weeks as the offseason gets underway.
