The Los Angeles Rams won the NFC West division last season. They lost in the NFC Divisional Round to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Matthew Stafford played well last season for the Rams. He has two years remaining on his contract. There were some trade rumors involving the 37-year-old quarterback.
Los Angeles Rams Keeping Matthew Stafford Despite Trade Rumors
The Las Vegas Raiders and the New York Giants were rumored to potentially trade for Stafford from the Rams this offseason. However, it was reported on Friday by Ari Meirov that
“The #Rams and QB Matthew Stafford have agreed to terms on a deal to keep him in Los Angeles and off the trade market.”
This should not come as a surprise. It felt like a long shot for the Raiders or the Giants to go get Stafford. Los Angeles will have him around for another couple of seasons. The contract will also be restructured.

It is going to be interesting to see what the Rams and Stafford do together next season. The next big domino that the Rams are going to have to figure out this offseason is whether or not they will bring back wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
