The Los Angeles Rams star Pro Bowler Kyren Williams has blossomed into one of the league’s top running backs despite being a late-round Day 3 selection in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Williams rushed for 1,299 yards (7th) on 316 carries (3rd) and scored 14 touchdowns (T-5th) in a career/league-high 888 (81.47%) offensive snaps, plus 182 rushing yards on 35 carries in the postseason. However, he does need to clean up his fumbling issues, as he coughed the ball up six times during the regular and postseason, and the Rams should consider reducing his workload a tad bit since playing over 80% of snaps isn’t feasible for a running back.
The Los Angeles Rams star Pro Bowler enters the final year of his rookie contract

Kyren Williams enters the final year of his 4-year, $3,970,404 rookie contract, which he signed during the 2022 offseason. However, due to the Proven Performance Escalator, which awards late-round picks for playing a significant amount of playing time or making the Pro Bowl in their first three seasons, Williams is set to earn a base salary of around $5,000,000 and a cap hit of $5,077,061 for 2025, per Spotrac. Since he made the Pro Bowl in 2023, he reached Level 3 of the PPE, which equates to the second-round restricted free agent tender, per Over The Cap.
The Rams are interested in extending their Pro Bowl offensive star

During Friday’s press conference, general manager Les Snead told the media that the Rams have expressed interest in opening extension talks with Kyren Williams during the offseason. Since Williams has completed his third regular season, he is eligible to negotiate and sign a contract extension immediately, per Article 7, Section 3 (k) (i) of the CBA. Snead believes he is a pivotal part of not only the offense but the team as a whole.
“I think that’s something that’s going to be on the plate,” Snead said, via Stu Jackson of the team’s website. “He would be someone that after three years you could begin discussing, let’s call it, renegotiating, starting anew. Because I do think Kyren is someone who is a Ram and has a very impactful role for us.”
