The Los Angeles Chargers’ month-long break is coming to a close, and players will report to training camp by next week. Rookies report to camp on Saturday, July 12, while veterans report on Wednesday, July 16, at The Bolt in El Segundo, California. The Chargers start camp early because they will face off against the Detroit Lions in the Hall of Fame Game on July 31.
All eyes will be on whether their new offensive weapon will report today amid the ongoing contract dispute.

The Cleveland Browns signed Carson Schwesinger, and the Houston Texans signed Jayden Higgins, both to historic and unprecedented fully guaranteed rookie contracts, the first by second-round picks in NFL history. As a result, the remaining 30 second-round picks, including Tre Harris III, the 55th overall pick, have yet to sign their rookie deals, and the next domino to fall. Rookies cannot participate in training camp until they have signed.

According to Adam Schefter, Tre Harris III did not report for training camp amidst the ongoing contract dispute. The Chargers and their 55th pick do have until next Thursday to agree to a rookie contract once the team begins its first practice session. Expect this to become the norm across the NFL, and it will be interesting to see which team makes the next move, causing the dominoes to fall.
