The Los Angeles Chargers and star quarterback Justin Herbert are tired of losing. They are tired of coming up short and having nothing to show for all the hard work they put in throughout the course of a grueling NFL season.
During the offseason, the Chargers made a big move to help get the franchise headed back in the right direction. They were able to convince Jim Harbaugh to leave the Michigan Wolverines and jump back into the NFL.
Harbaugh is the kind of coach who can completely change a team’s culture. He did it with the San Francisco 49ers and he did it with Michigan. Now, his job is to do it with the Chargers.
While a coaching change can be a very good thing, it can also be difficult for a quarterback. Herbert has to learn a brand new system and Harbaugh does not run a basic offense.
Despite the challenges, the Los Angeles Chargers’ superstar quarterback seems to be adjusting quite nicely.
Los Angeles Chargers Teammate Doesn’t Hold Back About Justin Herbert
With training camp right around the corner, Los Angeles Chargers’ center Bradley Bozeman has been impressed by Herbert. He spoke out about the star quarterback and did not hold back his praise.
“He acts like he’s been in the system for 10 years. He dives so deep into the system and knew it so well before anyone else could even grasp it. It’s been impressive to see him put people in the right positions and just elevate people around him.”
Herbert is a big part of the reason why Harbaugh was interested in coaching the Chargers. He is known as a quarterback’s coach, and working with Herbert was an intriguing draw.
Throughout his career to this point, Herbert has shown the potential of being an elite NFL quarterback. Unfortunately, he has not been able to lead the team to much success.
During the 2023 campaign with the Los Angeles Chargers, Herbert ended up completing 65.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,134 yards, 20 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He played in 13 games.
Looking ahead to the future, the Chargers seem to be in a much better place. With Harbaugh and Herbert leading the way, the franchise seems to be heading in the right direction.
Hopefully, when the games actually matter, Herbert and the team will be able to prove that they’re able to compete. They lost quite a few pieces this offseason, but Herbert has a chance to prove that he’s among the league’s best quarterback.
