The Los Angeles Chargers agree to terms with linebacker
The Los Angeles Chargers defense has addressed a significant need this offseason by agreeing to terms with an All-Pro defender. The defense needs to be better this season than it was in 2022. The Chargers’ offense boasted talent with quarterback Justin Herbert and star wide receivers and backfield.
However, the defense was ranked in the back half of the league for both points given up and total yards given up in 2022. Their deficiencies proved costly in the second half of the Wild Card game against the Jacksonville Jaguars when they blew a 27-0 lead. A new linebacker should help them in 2023.
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Chargers are set to sign Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks. The contract is for two seasons and is worth $13.25 million.

Kendricks is a long-time Vikings defender, as he’s been with the team his whole NFL career starting in 2015. He was credited with 137 total tackles and one sack last season.
