The Los Angeles Chargers re-sign a quarterback

The Los Angeles Chargers are looking to make a leap next season. The team made the playoffs but fell short in the Wild Card round after blowing a large lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team hired Kellen Moore as their next offensive coordinator, and he’ll inherit an ideal quarterback situation with Justin Herbert. The Chargers will also keep their backup quarterback situation stable.

According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Chargers have re-signed Easton Stick to be Herbert’s backup in 2023. Stick has been with the Chargers since he was drafted in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

The #Chargers have agreed to terms with QB Easton Stick, source said. Their fifth-rounder from 2019 will backup Justin Herbert.

Stick has thrown in one game during his NFL career. Stick played for the Chargers in the 2020 season when he threw one pass for four yards. The team hasn’t needed much from Stick, as Herbert is an elite starter, and Chase Daniel is another solid backup.
