The Los Angeles Chargers took a tough loss last week to their divisional rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, dropping their record to 2-2. While the team’s defense was able to hold the high-powered Chiefs offense to under 20 points, the offense was unable to add on points after the first quarter. To add more salt to the wound, star pass rusher Khalil Mack was also punished harshly by the league for a very questionable violation.
Los Angeles Chargers Star Punished
Mack was fined $22,511 for use of the helmet on a pass rush against Chiefs lineman Creed Humphrey. The league claims that the star pass-rusher led with his helmet into Humphrey, which is against the rules. However, many fans are claiming that they do not see him doing so in the video, which has led many to question the punishment.

Khalil Mack Career
Mack has been one of the premier pass rusher in the NFL throughout his career, amounting to 606 tackles, 104 sacks, and three interceptions. So far this season, he has tallied 15 tackles and two-and-a-half sacks for the Chargers, and looks to be as dominant as ever.
The superstar has played for three teams since being drafted back in 2014, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears, and now the Chargers. He has been a great addition to the Chargers defense since joining the team in 2022, and has already established himself as one of if no the best player on the defense.
The NFL has handed out a plethora of fines this week that have been questionable, and fans have been calling the league “soft” for these fines, especially this one affecting Mack.
Do you think the NFL should have fined Mack for this play, or was it a clean pass rush?
