The Los Angeles Chargers are hosting the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend. A lot of people are looking forward to the Jim Harbaugh and Andy Reid coaching matchup this weekend. First place in the NFC West is on the line this weekend.
The Chargers are 2-1 to start the 2024 season and the Chiefs are 3-0 to start the 2024 season. What football fans are looking forward to in this matchup is Patrick Mahomes vs Justin Herbert at the quarterback position.
Los Angeles Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh Is “Disappointed” With Decision To Suspend Safety Derwin James Ahead Of the Kansas City Chiefs Matchup
A lot of NFL fans were outraged that the NFL suspended safety Derwin James for one game because of a helmet-to-helmet hit on Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth last week. James appealed the suspension, but it was upheld.
Jim Harbaugh is “disappointed” about the NFL’s decision to suspend him for the game on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Harbaugh said to Daniel Popper of The Athletic on Wednesday:
“He genuinely does not want to hurt any other player and the film is Exhibit A. (The tackles) have been, in my opinion, as I’ve looked at the tape, exactly what you would want somebody (to do), what the league is trying to get to, which is take the head out of the game. But you can’t ever really take the head out of the game because it’s in between the two shoulders.”
Derwin James is one of the key players on the Chargers defense. A lot of people feel like it is suspicious timing for him to be suspended before the Kansas City Chiefs matchup. James has recorded 15 tackles this season.
Chargers are Massive Underdogs Against the Chiefs
For this matchup, the Los Angeles Chargers are massive underdogs against the Kansas City Chiefs at -7.5 points. It will be interesting to see if the Chargers can make it interesting against the Chiefs without Derwin James. Jim Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in the league. They could make it ugly against Kansas City and keep it close.
However, even if the Chargers cover the spread this week, they probably won’t beat the Chiefs. It would be an eye-opener if Jim Harbaugh and Los Angeles pulled this off this weekend.
