The Los Angeles Chargers finished Week 2 of voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) last Friday and will have one more week of OTAs. Week 3 begins Tuesday, June 4, and ends Friday, June 7. Once OTAs finish, they will have Mandatory Manicamp from Tuesday, June 11 to Thursday, June 13.

The Chargers’ depth at the safety position outside Derwin James and Alohi Gilman are young and inexperienced. A.J. Finley, an undrafted free agent from 2023, will be in his second year and has played 12 games and 26 defensive snaps. JT Woods, a 3rd-round pick from 2022, has played 13 games and 91 defensive snaps in his career. Finally, Jalyn Phillips and Akeem Dent are undrafted free agents from the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Chargers will have a visit with a 32-year-old safety.

“Source: Former #Ravens safety Tony Jefferson will tryout for the #Chargers during their upcoming minicamp.

“Jefferson, who grew up in San Diego, is coming out of retirement and has a few teams interested. New Bolts GM Joe Hortiz was previously in Baltimore with Jefferson.”

Jefferson played in the NFL for ten seasons and with four teams. He played 113 games and started 67 in his career, with 492 tackles, four interceptions, one pick-six, and 24 pass deflections.

    He hasn’t played since 2022.
