The Los Angeles Chargers and head coach Jim Harbaugh made a run to the playoffs last season. Unfortunately, that run came to an end in the Wild Card round of the playoffs on the road against the Houston Texans.
Justin Herbert is one of the more talented quarterbacks in the NFL. He has shown flashes of taking the next step into legitimate superstardom, but has been unable to turn those flashes into consistency.
One of the main weapons that the team went out and brought in this offseason was veteran wide receiver Mike Williams. However, Williams decided to retire on Thursday.
With that being said, the Chargers could consider getting aggressive and trying to bring in an elite No. 1 wide receiver for him to utilize.
To that end, a $90 million trade target has been suggested for Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Chargers Mentioned as Possible Fit for Huge $90 Million Trade
Brian Miller of Phin Phanatic has suggested the Chargers as a top-tier trade destination for Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill should he be made available.
“There are no rumors that Los Angeles would want Hill on their team or that they have reached out. The announcement regarding the Williams’ decision is fresh,” Miller wrote.
“The Chargers, however, do make sense for Hill should the Dolphins be called. They have a lot of cap space, a reason why Jalen Ramsey was often a name mentioned, and a clear need.”

Hill would change everything about the Los Angeles offense around Herbert. Even though he had a down year in 2024, he’s still one of the best in the business at the wide receiver position.
In 2024, he caught 81 passes for 959 yards and six touchdowns. Back in 2023, he ended up with 119 receptions for 1,799 yards, and 13 touchdowns. Going back to the 2022 season, he caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns.
Adding that kind of a threat into the Chargers’ offense would give Herbert an excellent opportunity to unlock his full potential. It’s an option that Los Angeles should seriously look into.
