The Los Angeles Chargers’ fifth-round pick, Cam Hart, had a solid rookie season, taking over as the starting corner later in the year due to injuries, performing well in coverage, and playing the third-most snaps at the position on the team. Hart recorded 37 tackles, seven pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 14 games and six starts, representing 458 snaps. He gave up a 60.3% completion percentage, 281 passing yards, three touchdowns, and an 89.8 passer rating.

Hart missed three games during the regular season because of two concussions and an ankle injury. He also exited the Wild Card Round with a significant injury.

Cam Hart suffered a significant shoulder injury during the third quarter against the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round. An MRI determined that Hart had suffered a torn labrum and underwent surgery in January, his fourth shoulder surgery in the past six years. Torn labrums typically require a three to six-month recovery time.

The Chargers began OTAs on Tuesday, and Hart did not participate in practice.

During Tuesday’s press conference, via Kris Rhim of ESPN, Cam Hart gave an injury update on his injured shoulder. Hart told the media that he has not fully recovered as he continues to work off to the side. He expects to be cleared and return for mandatory minicamp, which starts on June 10 and ends on June 12.

Free-agent acquisition Benjamin St-Juste will likely take over as the starting cornerback throughout OTAs. St-Juste played the first four seasons with the Washington Commanders and spent most of his tenure as their starter. He recorded 206 tackles, one interception, 34 pass deflections, and four forced fumbles in 54 games and 45 starts.
