Every offseason, the Dallas Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones love to create drama and headlines. With one month to go before the start of the 2025 NFL regular season, the Cowboys find themselves making headlines once again on this Friday.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, she reported on her Twitter page,
“BREAKING: The Micah Parsons-Cowboys relationship has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team, per multiple league sources familiar with the situation. The two sides remain far apart heading into the second week of training camp, and are not currently negotiating.”
This has a lot of Cowboys fans on edge at the moment, especially since Micah Parsons has not signed a new contract extension yet. With quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb signed to long-term contracts already, this could be a case where Dallas can’t pay everyone and that could be why they are having trouble signing Parsons.
Dallas Cowboys Fans Disgusted With Owner Jerry Jones After Latest Micah Parsons Contract Report

The problem with Dallas over the last several seasons has been the Cowboys ownership, especially with Jones. He has been complacent with making headlines and stories instead of winning Super Bowls. There are a lot of fans who are upset on Friday with Jones once again because Dallas and Parsons are far off on contract negotiations.
This is what some fans had to say about the current situation on Twitter:

Jerrah is more interested in being the star of the show than winning football games. I truly think he just wants to be the center of attention.

Over the years, Jones has continued to make headlines for this football franchise. It is all about the headlines for this guy and he wants people from the media talking about him and the Cowboys on a daily basis. Well, there is no doubt sports shows will talk about this today and he will get his wish.
During the 2024 NFL season with the Cowboys, he recorded 43 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass deflection. The 26-year-old was drafted by Dallas 12th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft as well.
If Parsons does request a trade from Dallas, the Cowboys could decide not to trade him, and it would make fans happy to not trade him unless they do. Also, it will be interesting to see which NFL teams would want to trade for him. There is no doubt that there would be a big market for Parsons on the trade market and they would need to sign him to a contract extension as well.
