Aaron Rodgers shocked the gridiron world after signing the much-awaited contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday. The veteran quarterback has already been hanging out with his teammates, particularly during a charity event from defensive tackle Cam Heyward.
Rodgers and wide receiver DK Metcalf showed up at Heyward’s annual “Irons for Impact” fundraiser. The two had been hanging out at the golf course, actively building chemistry ahead of the 2025 season.

Metcalf, known for teeing off with quarterbacks in golf, has found a specialist in Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers isn’t just a pro on the gridiron but also on the green, having won the 2023 AT&T with pro Ben Silverman.
Joining the pair at the event are WR Calvin Austin III, tight end Pat Friermuth and Connor Heyward, defensive linemen Nick Herbig and Payton Wilson, and kicker Chris Bowell, all of whom are on Pittsburgh’s roster. Former Steelers like QB Charlie Batch, defensive end Brett Kiesel, and linebacker Joey Porter Sr. were also in attendance.

With a $13.65 million contract lasting for a season, Aaron Rodgers’ veteran experience could bring the hopeful return of the Steelers to being playoff contenders. Pittsburgh went 10-7 last season, although they lost against the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card, 28-14. This marked the team’s sixth consecutive playoff season, where they went one-and-done.

Moreover, Rodgers is also determined to turn things around with a fresh Steelers roster. Since departing from the Green Bay Packers in 2022, he suffered from an Achilles injury in his first season with the New York Jets in 2023, then a losing 5-12 record with the same team next season.

Cam Heyward calls out Steelers fan on Aaron Rodgers drama
Aaron Rodgers‘ entry to Pittsburgh had garnered massive backlash from fans, with one netizen declaring his end of support for the team by burning a Minkah Fitzpatrick jersey. The viral act sparked Cam Heyward to give his disappointment online.
“First off, why Minkah’s jersey?” Heyward replied on the clip posted on X/Twitter showing the act. “That’s bonkers. Second why burn when there are plenty people that need clothes? Third you are going to regret it!”

The Steelers are in the rebuilding process, and signing Aaron Rodgers was a risk in hopes of greater rewards. Moreover, the entire roster had already expressed support and optimism for the 41-year-old quarterback and his impact on the team.

Last season, Rodgers passed 3,897 yards whilst having 28 touchdowns, a 60.9% completion rate, and a 90.8 rating.
