The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers will face off in possibly the matchup of the weekend on Sunday. Detroit (6-1) will travel to Green Bay (6-2) for a spot atop the NFC North at stake. This matchup goes beyond just their division, though. The winner will have a leg up in earning one of those top seeds in the NFC playoffs this year.
However, Detroit isn’t fortunate enough to catch one major break for this crucial contest.
“It’s Not Happening” Lions Get Difficult News Prior To Matchup Vs Packers
Love told reporters on Wednesday that it is “realistic” that he will play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, despite LaFleur’s “high level of concern” over the quarterback’s newly sustained groin injury.
While Love did not practice Wednesday, he ran drills with some teammates in the rain on Thursday. Wearing a helmet and pads, he threw and handed off the ball, conducting ball security drills. According to The Athletic, even though he was a limited participant Friday and officially listed as questionable, he’s expected to play in the NFC North showdown
Fans were quick to take note of Detroit’s misfortunes:
