Lions Officially Lose 33-Game Starter For Foreseeable Future (Breaking)

The Detroit Lions are looking to repeat the history they made in 2023.  For the first time in three decades they won the division, hosted (and won) a playoff game, and made an appearance in the NFC Championship game.

That being said, it is extremely difficult to maintain success in the NFL, and the Lions will have to do so without a key starter for the foreseeable future.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Lions are placing CB Emmanuel Moseley on IR and he is eligible to come back this season. They are also keeping guard Christian Mahogany on the NFI list, and he is eligible to return after four games.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Moseley tore his pectoral muscle during joint practices with the New York Giants. Since emerging as a breakout defensive back with the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, Moseley has suffered long-term injuries for three consecutive seasons.

This move makes it official that he won’t be seeing the field any time soon.  After rehabbing back from a torn ACL suffered in 2022, Moseley debuted in Week 5 of the following season, when he tore his other ACL after just two plays.  The veteran cornerback has suffered numerous setbacks in his career, hopefully he can rebound from this one in time for a late season push.
