It really comes as no surprise that the three-star linebacker, Alex Sanford has decided to join the Arkansas Razorbacks on their journey to greatness. Sanford went public this Sunday to say that he had officially committed to being a Razorback.
There was actually one very important aspect of the Arkansas Razorbacks that led him to make this all-important decision. The Razorbacks are certainly family and that is what won Sanford over. He shares how he is really family-oriented and he even goes on to say:
“Come to Arkansas and its family everywhere. Coach Pittman, he’s like family, Coach Scherer, he’s like family. The players are like family. Everybody is straight family. I’m real family-oriented, so it’s got to be family first.”
It’s all true. Arkansas Razorbacks is one big family from the coaches, to the players, even down to the fans. While this family-oriented team was enough to win Sanford over, he had even more great things to say about the Razorbacks team environment. He really loves the way the linebackers are set up to make plays and receive playing time. Sanford goes on to say:
” So there are lots you are going to do here. That is why I’m coming here.”

Arkansas has had a busy recruiting season. Sanford is the 16th member of Arkansas’ 2023 recruiting class and the fourth commitment in a span of eight days. He is 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds and an Oxford, Mississippi Native. He received multiple offers from different teams, one of them being his hometown school Ole Miss.
In Conclusion:
Sanford is classified as an inside linebacker; although he is versatile enough to be used as an edge rusher. He gained the experience doing both at Oxford High where he racked up 120 tackles. Several of those tackles were behind the line of scrimmage, with a pair of pass breakups and forced tumbles while playing in a multiple scheme. It only took Sanford one visit to Arkansas to realize that the Razorbacks is where he belongs.
