The USC Trojans have been trying to continue to grow under coach Lincoln Riley as he continues to establish his culture with the program. As we conclude the fourth season of him in Southern California, there have been some rumors of his name popping up in some coaching vacancies at other schools. On Tuesday, Lincoln Riley made his feelings known publicly about his future, so let’s take a deeper dive into what he said and what it means going forward for the USC Trojans and himself.
Lincoln Riley Affirms Staying with the USC Trojans in 2026

While speaking after practice on Tuesday night, USC Trojans coach Lincoln Riley made it known that he has no desire to leave the program for another job this offseason.
“Oh yeah, 100%. Like I said before, I’m right where I’m supposed to be. So yeah, that’s, I think nothing other than what we’re building, literally, and I love being here. Yeah, that’s really the end of it.”
The USC Trojans are on the outside of the College Football Playoff rankings as they enter Week 14 as the 17th-ranked program. Riley holds a 34-17 record with the program and is 89-27 as a head coach in college football.
Riley also has been able to land a lucrative contract as he is in the middle of a 10-year, $110 million contract with the school, with an incredible buyout if he were to leave the program. It finally seems that Riley is beginning to turn things around after having lofty expectations when he signed with USC. How Riley is able to recruit in the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason and improve the team for the 2026 season is going to be intriguing to keep an eye on.
