Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Carson Wentz has been waiting for his turn all season to get a chance to prove himself. With Patrick Mahomes injuring his ankle in a 21-7 win over the Cleveland Browns, many wonder if Wentz will be the starting quarterback for the Chiefs moving forward.
Kansas City is 13-1 this season and they are the number-one seed in the AFC. Patrick Mahomes left the game in the fourth quarter and he did not return to game action.
Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes Injury Update Will Have Carson Wentz Starting Potentially Moving Forward
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network after the game mentioned on his Twitter page that Mahomes will be week-to-week with his ankle injury. The next time that Kansas City plays is on Saturday against the Houston Texans. The odds are that Carson Wentz will start for the Chiefs in that matchup.
Also, the Chiefs will be playing on Christmas Day on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It would be intriguing to see if Kansas City stayed as the number one seed in the AFC if Wentz were to start for the remainder of the regular season for them.

How crazy would it be if Carson Wentz takes over for an injured Patrick Mahomes and leads the Chiefs to a Super Bowl Victory; just like Nick Foles did when Wentz got injured in 2017.

What if Carson wentz did a Nick Foles

Back in 2017, Wentz was playing with the Philadelphia Eagles and he tore his ACL against the Los Angeles Rams with three games to play in the regular season. Philadelphia was the number-one seed in the NFC that year. Nick Foles took over as the starting quarterback. The Eagles won the Super Bowl with Foles that year against the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. It was one of the most surprising runs.
Imagine if seven years later, Wentz led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl Title with Patrick Mahomes sidelined. That would be interesting because it would be a three-peat for the Chiefs and the script writers can’t draw this up themselves.
