Amid questions about President Donald Trump’s history with noted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, the White House bestowed an honor on a person who pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct with a girl who was 16 at the time, Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor.
On Thursday, Trump promoted the registered sex offender to his council that is bringing back the Presidential fitness test for public schools. Trump also put Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker on the council.
Taylor wasn’t sure what his role on the council would be, but the former New York Giants player was glad to be doing whatever Trump wanted him to do.
“I’m just proud to be on this team,” Taylor said. “I don’t know what we are supposed to be doing, but I’m here to serve and I’m here to serve you. I’m going to do the best I can for as long as I can.”
President Donald Trump under fire for Lawrence Taylor decision

The Republicans Against Trump X account criticized Trump for inviting Taylor to the White House and promoting him to the council.
“You literally can’t make this (expletive) up Donald Trump launched a youth sports initiative at the White House today, appearing alongside Lawrence Taylor, a registered sex offender who pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct involving a trafficked 16-year-old girl A new low,” they wrote.
