We all have ideas on who we should be taking in the late-rounds, but who should we be picking up. There are always late-round steals in drafts. These players include James Conner and Victor Cruz. These are picks for the late-round fantasy football drafts that are steals in the upcoming 2022 fantasy draft. Here is one player from each position, that you should consider taking in the later rounds.

A quarterback that is going as the 17th QB off the board: Justin Fields

Justin Fields could be a very important duel-threat fantasy football QB this upcoming 2022 season

The Chicago Bears are set on building around Justin Fields according to their new coach Matt Eberflus. The Bears showed signs of this with the signing Byron Pringle to try and add a decent wide receiver who showed some hope with Kansas City last year and the third round pick Velus Jones to add speed at the wideout position. Fields was the backup for part of the season last year, but did get to start later on. He finished his last four full games as the QB 12 averaging 21.7 fantasy PPG along with 56 rushing yards per game in his last six. This shows high praise for a very mobile quarterback as duel-threat quarterbacks can be very valuable in fantasy football. Justin Fields has gone as late as the 12th round and is hovering around rounds nine and ten. His ADP is around 110-120 in 12-team leagues at the QB17 rank according to NFC . Fields could be that duel-threat quarterback that scores you consistent fantasy points and yet draft in the tenth round.

This RB could be starting and is going in most late-round fantasy drafts such as the 10th round in: Ronald Jones

Ronald Jones has the potential to be a valuable weapon for the Kansas City Chiefs as well as a late-round draft pick for your fantasy football team

Ronald Jones has serious potential in a high powered Kansas City Chiefs offense. Jones had a good season in 2020, but then fell behind Leonard Fournette for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so it may be difficult to trust Jones. Ronald Jones is only 24 years old though and has always shown upside for being a good starting running back. Clyde Edwards-Helaire has not met expectations and has show to be somewhat of an injury risk so far in the NFL. With that it is possible to see Jones become a major factor in the Chiefs run game. Lets face it, Ronald Jones was benched because he fumble early in the 2021 season. He lost his job to a very good Leonard Fournette, but I believe behind Andy Reids offense, things will be different. Jones can become a valuable option that is getting draft around rounds nine through eleven, with an average draft position of 130.

A third string WR on a high powered offense? Yes. :Tim Patrick

Tim Patrick is going in the late-rounds of fantasy leagues, but yet could be a very valuable steal in your fantasy football draft

There is always wide receivers who end up being value picks in rounds eight through eleven. What if I said there is one going in the 12th round of most drafts according to NFC’s ADP? Tim Patrick is part of a high powered Denver Broncos offense.  He got a restructured contract and at twenty-eight years old, could be a valuable flex option at his ADP. Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy are great wide-receivers, but can they stay on the field? No, I am not telling you to predict injury, but they have the history to show it. Sutton was able to complete the season last year, but it still has not been long since he suffered major injuries in 2020 season and Jeudy missed six games last year. Patrick has also shown upside before and with a better quarterback, a third-string WR can be valuable at 153 ADP. This is a steal and is worth it the pick in the 11th and 12th round of your draft.

A TE who is going too late in fantasy drafts: Irv Smith Jr

Irv Smith Jr is poised to be a potential breakout candidate at just 23 years old

Irv Smith had big hype in the upcoming 2021 season, but was injured and did not play that season. When Smith was on the field, he was very reliable to his team. He averaged 12.2 y/r and totaled five touchdowns in 2020. Smith is getting drafted as the TE18 and the 131st player off the board in the tenth round, but he has major upside as a young TE coming into his rookie-contract season.  Now that Tyler Conklin is gone, Irv Smith is back in that role of starting tight end with a lot to prove. Smith could bring high upside to your team with his ADP. You should take into consideration the offense that the Vikings could have and how valuable he could be. Even more so valuable for dynasty leagues as he is just 23 years old.
