The Las Vegas Raiders opted not to pursue a high-end quarterback last offseason. Additionally, they passed on taking a signal-caller in the 2024 NFL Draft, ultimately rolling with the quarterback duo of journeyman Gardner Minshew and second-year player Aidan O’Connell. Through mid-November, Las Vegas is 2-7, with their offense scoring a lowly 18.7 points per game. Minshew, O’Connell, and third-stringer Desmond Ridder have combined for nine passing touchdowns against ten picks.
The Raiders have well-documented struggles at quarterback. One prominent media outlet has the AFC West team addressing the offensive woes via the 2025 NFL Draft. With the projected fifth overall pick, The 33rd Team has the Raiders landing Colorado football star Shedeur Sanders.
Las Vegas Raiders Snag Elite FBS QB in 2025 NFL Draft

-
Tennessee Titans – Tetairoa McMillian WR | Arizona
-

-
Las Vegas Raiders – Shedeur Sanders QB | Colorado
-

With the fifth pick in a 2025 NFL Mock Draft, The 33rd Team has the Las Vegas Raiders selecting Colorado football star quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Meanwhile, Miami Hurricanes Heisman Trophy Award candidate passer Cam Ward is the first quarterback off the board, going second overall to the New York Giants. This season, Sanders leads the Big 12 in passing touchdowns (24), passer rating (163.1), and completion percentage (73%). On Saturday, Sanders went 30-of-41 for 340 yards and three touchdowns against the Utah Utes. Colorado won 49-24.
The Las Vegas Raiders desperately need a change at quarterback following a second straight season of offensive struggles. Following the departure of longtime starting signal-caller Derek Carr in 2023, Las Vegas received little production regarding his replacement, Jimmy Garoppolo. The Raiders opted to start fourth-round rookie Aidan O’Connell for most of the season, with the Purdue product throwing 12 touchdowns against seven picks in ten starts. However, he has only two touchdowns against two picks this season, while Garoppolo’s replacement, Gardner Minshew, has equally struggled.
