Even with the NFL set to return soon, there still might be a couple more players moved to a different team in the coming days. According to an NFL analysis, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams may request a trade sooner than later.
Adams first attended Palo Alto High School where he excelled in football and basketball. After a standout college career at Fresno State, Adams was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
He initially played behind veteran receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, but eventually emerged as the Packers’ top wideout. Over the next four seasons, Adams formed a close connection with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, leading the league in receiving touchdowns in 2020 and setting career highs in receptions and receiving yards in 2021.
During his eight-year tenure with the Packers, Adams earned three First-team All-Pro selections and was named to the Pro Bowl six times. However, contract negotiations broke down in the 2022 offseason, leading to his trade to the Raiders. In his first season in Las Vegas, Adams led the league in receiving touchdowns and made his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl appearance.
Las Vegas Raiders Davante Adams Projected To Make a Trade Demand Soon
It’s not yet known whether Adams’ trade demand can come in before the season starts or somewhere during the coming months. But according to an analysts by Ryan Fowler for Bleacher Report.
“One of the best ever at the wide receiver spot, Davante Adams hasn’t made his frustrations in Las Vegas a secret. The Raiders are set to enter the fall with Gardner Minshew as their starter, and the ongoing carousel at quarterback can’t sit well with Adams.
Since joining the Raiders, he has been forced to adapt. It’s been a complete 180 from his years spent in Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers, and that lack of stability at quarterback, especially following the departure of Derek Carr, has seemingly worn on Adams.
Along with the uncertainty surrounding the level of play under center, the Raiders’ overall trajectory remains in flux. For Adams, who’ll turn 32 in December, competing for a Super Bowl surely remains atop his priority list,” Fowler wrote.
A few months ago, Adams dismissed these trade rumors, stating that if he wanted to leave the Raiders, he would have done so by now. The star wide receiver expressed his desire to remain in Las Vegas, citing the improved team morale under new head coach Antonio Pierce as a key factor in his commitment to the organization.
Throughout his professional journey, Davante Adams has established himself as one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL, consistently producing at an elite level and cementing his status as a perennial star. However, his situation in Las Vegas isn’t getting any better, which can lead to a trade demand somewhere down the line.
