The Las Vegas Raiders’ young defensive back, Jakorian Bennett, had a solid start to his second season before an injury ended it. He didn’t begin 2024 as a starting cornerback but earned the role and started seven of the first ten games, playing 71% of defensive snaps. Bennett recorded 26 tackles and eight pass deflections, allowing a 52.3% completion percentage, 233 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and a 67.7 passer rating.

Jakorian Bennett exited the first quarter with an apparent arm injury in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins. He would miss Week 12 against the Denver Broncos, and the Raiders placed him on injured reserve in Week 13, where he spent the final six weeks. Bennett later revealed that his shoulder popped out five times and that he had been playing through a torn labrum before the pain was too much for him, ultimately requiring surgery.
“It feels amazing, man. I haven’t had both my shoulders since college,” Bennett said, via Levi Damien of Raiders Wire.“I’d go out there during games, knowing my shoulder was going to pop out. Probably last season my shoulder popped out like five times. Because I had a torn labrum, you know? A lot of people don’t know that but I was just thugging it out. They’d put it back in and I’d go back in or whatever, but it feels good to have it back right. Just time to take that next step.”
