The Las Vegas Raiders signed free agent wide receiver Jakobi Meyers who had spent the first four seasons of his career with the New England Patriots. Presumably, Meyers did not get the amount of money he was expecting in whatever offer the Patriots made to him. To replace Meyers, New England signed Super Bowl Champion JuJu Smith-Schuster. As it turns out, the two contracts are VERY similar, and Meyers was not too happy with his former team.

The contract that Meyers signed with the Raiders was a three-year deal worth $33 million. As it turns out, that is the exact same deal that Smith-Schuster signed with the Patriots. When The NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport reported Smith-Schuster’s contract details on Twitter, Meyers had a pretty understandable reaction:

The NFL is a cruel business, indeed.
Last season, Jakobi Meyers had 67 receptions for 804 yards and six touchdowns. By comparison, Smith-Schuster had 78 receptions for 933 yards and three touchdowns.
