On Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders will visit the Baltimore Ravens as they try to avoid their second 0-2 start in three seasons. Last week, Las Vegas stumbled to a 22-10 loss to the division rival Las Angeles Chargers, with the offense struggling with turnovers and protection. The Chargers continuously got after Raiders signal-caller Gardner Minshew despite allowing 23.4 points per game last season, the 8th-worst average in the NFL. Now, the Raiders will have one week to get ready to tackle the Ravens’ defense, arguably the best group from the 2023 season.
The sportsbooks have little faith in the AFC West club’s ability to pull off the win, placing them as nine-point underdogs heading into the weekend. Nevertheless, it seems not even the team’s reporters believe in the squad, evident from what a hot mic picked up before a press conference on Wednesday.
Las Vegas Raiders Reports Question Team’s Ability
According to RaidersAQ on Twitter:
Raiders Reporters were caught hot mic’d at today’s press conference, trash-talking the team. “Gardner is going to get his a– kicked by Baltimore.”
Las Vegas Raiders reporters can be heard in the background questioning the ability of quarterback Gardner Minshew to perform in Sunday’s upcoming clash against the Baltimore Ravens. Additionally, they believe the offensive will be the leading cause of Minshew’s diminished performance. In the season opener last weekend, Minshew went 25-of-33 for 257 yards, one touchdown, and an interception. However, he became a sack victim four times while fumbling once. Reports can also be heard discussing their lack of belief in Minshew and former team starter Derek Carr.
The hot mic slip-up quickly caught traction on social media, with many fans aligned with the reporter’s opinion. NFL devotees did not shy away from throwing shade at Minshew and his teammates, who have a tough road matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on the horizon. However, some went to bat for Minshew and the team, expressing belief in a potential upset:
