Smith spent five of his six seasons with Carroll in Seattle, taking over as the starting quarterback for his final three years. He threw for 12,226 yards and 71 touchdowns, achieving a 27-22 record, a playoff berth in 2022, and two Pro Bowl selections (2022 and 2023) from 2022 to 2024.

Geno Smith enters the final year of his three-year, $75 million contract, which he signed during the 2023 offseason. He is scheduled to earn a $14.8 million base salary, along with a $31 million cap hit in 2025. Since he couldn’t reach an agreement with the Seahawks, it became apparent that he wanted to renegotiate his contract with the Raiders as part of the trade.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Raiders and Geno Smith have agreed to a contract extension. As Rapoport points out, the deal is for two extra years and is worth up to $85.5 million, with $66.5 million guaranteed. The contract is essentially a three-year deal worth a $116.5 million max.
