The Las Vegas Raiders currently have two of the five starting offensive line positions locked in, including left tackle and center, with three vacancies remaining. Highlighting one of the three vacancies to keep an eye on throughout training camp is at right tackle. The Raiders had two players start in 2024, including a former third-round rookie.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ RT had a solid rookie campaign

DJ Glaze began his rookie season as the backup right tackle to Thayer Munford Jr. for the first three games. Following the injury to Munford in Week 3, the third-round pick took over as the starter for the remainder of the year, starting the final 14 games. Glaze allowed 51 pressures, ten quarterback hits, and three sacks while posting a 61.9 pass-blocking grade, a 68.4 run-blocking grade, and a 66.1 overall PFF grade.
Las Vegas Raiders’ hidden gem is in line to start in 2025

So far, DJ Glaze has received the lion’s share of first-team reps with the starting offense in OTAs and mandatory minicamp. As Levi Damien of Raiders Wire points out, the starting right tackle competition appears all but over, with him in line to start in Year 2. Although Glaze has taken the early lead, it’s too early to crown a winner since starting spots aren’t won during mandatory minicamp but training camp, and things could change once they put the pads on.
“Glaze’s solid work against the relentless pressure from Crosby was a subject of last year’s camp as well. The term ‘iron sharpens iron’ gets thrown around a bit too loosely, but in this case it clearly did wonders for Glaze,” Damien said. “And probably helped Crosby as well. Not that who Maxx was facing in practice would matter in terms of his preparation for games, but in the endless pursuit of raising the bar, formidable competition is needed.
“Glaze has provided that and it looks like the result is locking down the starting right tackle job already.”
He has caught the attention of the head coach

“I saw a lot of DJ Glaze. I thought he had a really really good offseason with us,” Pete Carroll said. “He looks like he’s ready to go. Might be a second-year guy but he’s one of those…Guys that go from year one to year two they have the ability to make a big jump because they’re through the rookie haze and he’s shown that.”
