Recent happenings point out to Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams being likely to be traded, beginning with head coach Antonio Pierce liking a social media post that discussed whether the team should move on without him. Following that, NFL insiders have reported that Adams himself would like to be traded.
Since then, the Raiders have sent feelers that they are willing to trade Adams in exchange for a second-round pick and an added compensation from a willing trade partner. NBA star Damian Lillard weighed in on this, saying that the Raiders’ asking price is too low for a player like Adams. He took to X to air his thoughts.
“If the Raiders trade Tae (Adams) for a damn 2nd round pick [then] I’m done,” the eight-time NBA All-Star said.

Is Damian Lillard right in his valuation of Davante Adams?
Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard seems to think that Davante Adams is worth at least a first-round pick, judging by his rant on X. The take doesn’t seem unjustified since the Raiders wide receiver cost a first-round and a second-round pick when Las Vegas acquired him from the Green Bay Packers.
Adams is also one of the best wide receivers in the league today, with six Pro Bowl selections and two receiving touchdowns leader selections, achieving these honors as both a Packer and a Raider.
However, the wider receiver trade market has changed from how it was in 2022, the year Adams was traded to Las Vegas. Also in that same year, former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill moved to Miami in exchange for a first-round pick, a second-round pick, and multiple later-round picks.
Perhaps the biggest movement for a wide receiver this offseason was for Stefon Diggs, who was traded by the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick. Aside from Diggs, the Texans got a 2024 sixth-round pick and 2025 fifth-round pick in the trade deal.
Damian Lillard might be surprised at the Raiders’ asking price for Davante Adams, but given the current trade market, it’s not really all that surprising. With teams like the Kansas City Chiefs who are in need of a wide receiver, they might just bite into the deal. After all, they are expected to compete for the Super Bowl this year, and they can use some help from a wide receiver of Adams’ caliber.
