The Las Vegas Raiders kicked off voluntary organized team activities on Monday. After taking Tuesday off, they returned on Wednesday and will continue through Thursday before a short break. The Raiders will return on the 27th, 29th, and 30th, as well as from June 2nd to 5th. Once OTAs finish, they will transition into mandatory minicamp, which will run from June 10th to 12th.
The Las Vegas Raiders star DT has not practiced

Christian Wilkins’ inaugural season with Las Vegas was cut short due to injury, limiting him to a career-low five games. Wilkins suffered a season-ending Jones fracture in his left foot in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, which typically carries a six-to-twelve-week recovery time. The star defensive tackle attended both Monday and Wednesday’s sessions but did not participate in drills, as many wondered whether he suffered a setback.
Las Vegas Raiders star receives brutal injury update

During Wednesday’s press conference, via Heidi Fang of The Las Vegas Review-Journal, Pete Carroll gave an injury update on Christian Wilkins. Carroll shared that although Wilkins is working very hard in his rehab, he is not ready to return to practice, which will take a while to recover from. He described the rehab as “challenging,” but they have plenty of time before the regular season starts.
“Every day he’s here early, working hard, but we’re still working,” Carroll said, via Fang. “He’s not ready to get back out. We’re in the midst of a long, challenging process. Fortunately, there’s a lot of time, and we’re going to take every bit of it. We’ve really tried to be really diligent in the way we’ve worked it and the way we’ve wanted it and all that, and he’s been on board the whole time. But it has been challenging.”

Who replaces him for the time being?

For the time being, the expectation is for 2024 seventh-round pick Jonah Laulu to replace Christian Wilkins during spring practice at defensive tackle, already receiving plenty of reps. Laulu had a solid rookie season, filling in for the injured Wilkins with seven starts in 17 games. Other players in contention include Leki Fotu, Tonka Hemingway, and JJ Pegues.
