The Las Vegas Raiders have a wide receiver dilemma with less than two weeks remaining until the start of the regular season. According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Jakobi Meyers recently met with the front office regarding a contract extension, as he enters the final year of his deal. However, the Raiders don’t plan to extend Meyers, prompting the leading receiver to request a trade on Monday.

With the roster filled with younger and unproven receivers, the team might consider bringing in a veteran to provide depth and leadership.
The Las Vegas Raiders could be in the mix for a familiar face

Amari Cooper is considered one of the top free-agent wide receivers available. After beginning the 2024 season with the Cleveland Browns, the Buffalo Bills acquired the five-time Pro Bowler in October. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out for Cooper in Buffalo, battling a wrist injury that hampered his performance, and finishing with a career-low 44 receptions for 547 yards and four touchdowns in 14 regular-season games, plus six receptions for 41 yards in the playoffs.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Raiders have signed Amari Cooper to a one-year contract. As a result, he will reunite with his former team after six and a half seasons apart. Cooper is expected to step into a starting role or serve as a key backup in 2025, his 11th year in the NFL.
