Lamar Jackson’s MVP campaign continues with another elite performance in week 10 against the Cincinnati. The AFC North has been very competitive this year; the Ravens and Steelers are in a narrow race for the top spot, with the Bengals trying to climb back into playoff contention. Any time these divisional rivals meet, we expect an exciting and hard fought game. That expectation has been met in both games this year.
In the Ravens’ first matchup against the Bengals, Lamar put on an unbelievable show, throwing for 348 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions en route to a 41-38 win in overtime. There aren’t many quarterbacks who can put up a stat line like this; the list grows even smaller of quarterbacks who can perform like this numerous times in a season. Jackson managed to give a similarly spectacular performance in Week 10 against Cincy; he threw for 290 yards and four touchdowns without an interception to complete a comeback 35-34 win.

Winning weekly
Lamar’s entertaining performance last week earned him the honors of AFC Offensive Player of the Week yet again. This will be Jackson’s third time this season receiving this accolade; in the other two weeks he won, Lamar had over 280 yards through the air and at least 4 touchdowns. The only other offensive player in the AFC to receive this praise more than once this season is his teammate, running back Derrick Henry. These two generational players continue to put up numbers that must be acknowledged. As a result, they also continue to stack wins.
Lamar’s Legacy
Lamar already has 2 NFL Most Valuable Player awards under his belt, and all signs point to a third award joining the others in his decorated trophy case. Lamar threw for 24 regular season touchdowns last year earning him the privilege of the MVP title; this year, he has already matched that with 7 games still remaining. Additionally, he broke Ben Roethlisberger’s record for the most games with a perfect passer rating, and he leads the league in total QBR this season. It will be interesting to see if his play can secure him a third MVP award. If that proves to be the case, he will join a list of only six legendary players who have achieved this feat.
