The Brock Purdy injury has been the talk of the NFL offseason. The 49ers have been very vocal about their support of Purdy as the starting quarterback. The question was whether he would be healthy enough to play in September. Head coach Kyle Shanahan provided a promising update on the Brock Purdy injury.
Kyle Shanahan says that barring setbacks, the 49ers expect Brock Purdy back by training camp. Purdy has already been making throwing motions with a towel — not yet with a ball (that’s expected in June)

Kyle Shanahan Is Optimistic About The Brock Purdy Injury
Barring any setbacks, Purdy should be ready by training camp. He has already been throwing with a towel and is expected to make the transition to a ball in June. This is huge for the 49ers. The rest of the roster is ready to make a Super Bowl run. All that was left was who was going to play quarterback. If Purdy can be back by training camp, the team should have no trouble getting him in shape for the rest of the season. The hope is there are no setbacks. If there are, Sam Darnold or Trey Lance would have to start the season.
Can Purdy Recapture The Magic Of Last Season?
The 49ers are putting a lot of stock into Purdy. He had an excellent season but only played in the back half of the year after Jimmy Garoppolo went down with an injury. The quarterback is the most important position in football and even though the rest of the team is stacked, a team needs a competent quarterback. The 49ers are counting on the performance of last year. If he cannot recapture that magic, the team could be looking at more heartbreak this season.
This was good news on the Brock Purdy injury. If you are a 49ers fan, it would be pain to have to watch this team squander the amount of talent they have because of quarterback issues. Hopefully, there are no setbacks and Purdy will be ready to start the season in September.
