The Las Vegas Raiders announced they were signing two players to the practice squad amid injuries after their Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. One of the players is a former first-round pick who plays defensive end.
The Las Vegas Raiders have injury issues

Last week, the Raiders ruled out defensive end Malcolm Koonce for the Chargers game due to a knee injury. Koonce was placed on injured rest last week.
Koonce’s injury meant the Raiders were planning to rely on 2023 first-round pick Tyree Wilson to play extra snaps against the Chargers.
Unfortunately, Wilson suffered an injury during Sunday’s loss to the Chargers. Wilson suffered a knee sprain. The injury is not expected to be a long-term injury.
Still, the Raiders needed to beef up their reserves at defensive end.
Raiders sign K’Lavon Chaisson to practice squad

According to the Raiders website, the team signed defense end K’Lavan Chaisson to the practice squad on Tuesday:
Chaisson joins the Raiders after spending the past four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was originally drafted by the Jaguars in the first round (20th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft and has played in 57 career games with 11 starts and totaled 72 tackles (47 solo), five sacks, 11 tackles for loss and two passes defensed.
Chaisson’s experience will be helpful for a Raiders team that could elevate him to play in regular season games soon.
Raiders sign Kyu Blu Kelly to practice squad

Per the Raiders website, the team also signed Las Vegas native and cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly:
Kelly was originally a fifth-round draft pick (157th overall) by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2023 NFL Draft and has also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders. He has appeared in eight games and recorded five tackles and one tackle for loss.
Kelly could provide crucial special teams depth for the Raiders this season.
The Raiders will practice Wednesday-Friday, so Blu Kelly and Chaisson have three days to prepare before Las Vegas plays the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2.
