Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons quarterback, was one of the select few who made it to Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’ series. Apart from covering a number of topics related to his personal life and career in the NFL, Cousins also spoke out on his time with wide receivers, Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison in the Minnesota Vikings.
It is clear that the quarterback still misses his time playing with them and referred to the thought as what one experiences when they see an ex dating someone they know. Cousins also hinted at his sadness that his spot in the Vikings has been filled by new quarterback, Sam Darnold.
“When you see someone dating the person you used to date in like high school or college you’re like, I used to throw to Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson. And now someone else is enjoying doing that.” Kirk Cousins spoke about his time in the Minnesota Vikings with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
Kirk Cousins is currently with the Atlanta Falcons after signing with them back in 2024. Cousins will be gearing up for another season with the team and will be eager to bring out better numbers in the upcoming year after failing to make it even close to the playoffs in the 2024 NFL season. Cousins and the Falcons will be kicking off their 2025 NFL campaign with a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1.

Kirk Cousins Felt ‘Misled’ By Falcons Signing Michael Penix Jr.
In the ‘Quarterback’ series, Kirk Cousins also revealed how he felt when the Atlanta Falcons decided to bring in quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in the 2024 NFL draft. Cousins was apparently never informed of the decision until the deal with Penix was sorted and explained that he felt ‘misled’.

While Cousins was definitely aware that the Atlanta Falcons will be bagging a quarterback in the draft, he certainly did not realize that Penix’s deal would be that high. This insecurity was one reason as to why Cousins was not ready to rest on the bench even after an injury in Week 11.

Apparently, the veteran quarterback felt that by handing over the reins to Michael Penix Jr., he was essentially signing his job away. After Cousins was benched eventually, Penix actually managed to pull off a decent performance as a rookie. However, the team missed the playoffs with Penix managing 775 yards with three touchdowns for the team.
