Kirk Cousins’ talents are not being used well by the Atlanta Falcons according to the former NFL player, Dan Orlovsky. Currently, the Atlanta Falcons are reigning in the NFC South with an even 6-6 current record. In their last game, the Falcons took on the Los Angeles Chargers and lost the game with a final score of 17-13.
In that game, Kirk Cousins attempted 39 passes and completed 24 of them for 245 yards, managing four interceptions. Bijan Robinson took charge of the rushing with 26 carries for 102 yards, scoring once, while Ray-Ray McCloud III defended the team with four receptions for 95 yards. On Cousins’ performance this season, Orlovsky spoke to NFL Live.
“He has zero touchdown passes this year in play-action. Kirk Cousins was one of the, if not the, best play action pass quarterbacks in football over the last four years. He’s got no touchdown passes in play action? He’s on track to have 85 play-action pass attempts. I’m not sitting there saying that’s the cure-all. But my goodness, Atlanta, what are we doing? Let’s let him play to his strengths and do that much more than you are right now.” Orlovsky said on NFL Live.

While the Atlanta Falcons are definitely doing well with Kirk Cousins, Orlovsky feels that the 36-year-old quarterback is not being used in the right manner. The Falcons are the third team for Kirk Cousins who was originally drafted into the NFL by the Washington Redskins in the 2012 NFL draft.
Kirk Cousins And Atlanta Falcons Suffer Three-Game Losing Streak
While the Atlanta Falcons are at the top of the NFC South, the team is not doing too well at this point in the season. The Falcons are suffering a three-game losing streak at the moment with their latest defeat coming against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Before the Chargers, Atlanta faced the Broncos and were demolished with a miserable 38-6 final score, and prior to that failed to win against the New Orleans Saints with a 20-17 final score. In the last three games, Kirk Cousins has not thrown a single touchdown pass and has also been intercepted six times.
Cousins has not played this badly in the past, and therefore, NFL pundits like Dan Orlovsky have come out to say that it is the team’s fault that the quarterback’s stats have dipped badly this season. However, things might still turn up for the QB who is expected to take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
