“His Stupidity Is Truly Terminal”: Kid Rock’s Controversial “DEI Hire” Comment About Jay-Z Draws Fierce Fire From Jemele Hill

Kid Rock has been in the news for all the wrong reasons ever since Super Bowl weekend. While Bad Bunny was the star of the actual halftime show, Kid Rock headlined TPUSA’s All-American Halftime Show along with a number of other stars.

TPUSA’s rival event to the actual Super Bowl definitely turned out to be a successful one, with almost six million tuning in to their live stream on YouTube. However, Kid Rock immediately faced plenty of criticism for various things, including the improper syncing and also for comments that he made later on. The singer dissed Bad Bunny’s show, along with the show’s organizer, Jay-Z, calling him a DEI hire which got Jemele Hill pretty irked.

“Nothing against Jay-Z, I respect him for his hustle, you know, his music, but it seems like there’s a little bit of a DEI hire there going on. ‘Oh… Black guys love Jay-Z.’ And of course, I’m not that ignorant, I know a lot of us love Jay-Z, not just Black guys.” Kid Rock said.

“Kid Rock, of all people, called Jay-Z — arguably the greatest hip-hop artist ever and a billionaire — a “DEI hire. His stupidity is truly terminal.” Jemele Hill responded.

Kid Rock also called out the fact that Bad Bunny’s entire show was fully in Spanish. Although many haters have been pointing this out repeatedly, almost everyone at the stadium seemed to clearly enjoy themselves even if they didn’t understand Spanish.

Kid Rock Clarifies That His Performance Was Pre-Recorded

Meanwhile, Kid Rock got many MAGA fans and TPUSA fans pretty mad after the singer came forward to announce that his performance in the All-American Halftime show was indeed pre-recorded. The singer even shared a post along with a video of him showing the process.

“My halftime performance was pre recorded but performed live No lipsyncing like the haters and fake news are trying to report. When they synced the cameras to my performance on Bawitdaba, it did not line up as I explain in this video.” Kid Rock tweeted.

The singer’s words are definitely shocking since he rubbished the reports about the show being pre-recorded just a day earlier. Kid Rock also went on to say that he had advised the production team about getting the syncing right, which they failed to do.
