The Cleveland Browns will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the first time this season on Thursday night, and playing the Steelers is never good for a Browns team that is struggling.
Usually, when a bad Cleveland team plays Pittsburgh, they lose horribly, and the head coach sometimes gets fired the next day.
Kevin Stefanski Could Be The Next Coach To Go
Six out of the last seven Browns head coaches were fired right after losing to the Steelers, and Kevin Stefanski could be next on that list.
The Browns playing on a short week will lead the team to have over ten days before they kick off against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, and that mini-bye could be the perfect time to move off Stefanski.
Losing to the Steelers is always a big NO to Cleveland fans, and that could be the final straw of Stefanski’s Browns career.
According to the website Odds Shark, Stefanski is +2000 for the next head coach to be fired, which is the sixth-best odds among coaches. This ties him with Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles.
If Stefanski does get fired, there is a great chance Mike Vrabel will take over the role for the rest of the season and maybe for the future.
The good news is that Stefanski has won two NFL Coach of the Year Awards, will land on his feet quickly, and will probably be hired for another NFL head coaching job this upcoming winter.
It will be interesting to see what the Browns do if they lose on Thursday night, and knowing their own Jimmy Haslam, anything is possible.
