We all know that not every team in the country has five surefire draft picks on it. Some programs do, especially in some of the more elite conferences, but the vast majority don’t have that many top-flight prospects. Although, we also know that the definition “top-flight” doesn’t always pan out. At the same time, that strong undrafted free agent that everybody forgot ends up making an NFL and flourishing.
Below is a look at Kentucky Top 5 Draft Prospects, and how they project in the eyes of Draft Scout. For now, we’ll go strictly with seniors, as no underclassmen have been allowed to declare earlier yet. When they do, we’ll update the lists below.
KENTUCKY TOP 5 NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS
NO. 1 PROSPECT
NAME: Will Levis (QB)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 1st round
CAREER STATISTICS: Passing: (424 CMP, 646 ATT, 5,203 YDS) Rushing: (289 ATT, 778 YDS)
THE TRUTH: Draft Scouts say that Levis is a top 50, verified #1 rated senior QB by over twenty-six NFL teams. They also make positive notes about his “strong arm” and call him a “bulldog runner,” along with mentioning he is faster than last season. I think that Levis is obvious a great number one spot on the Kentucky Top 5 NFL Draft Prospects, especially with his constant improvement.
NO. 2 PROSPECT
NAME: Keidron Smith (CB)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 4th round
CAREER STATISTICS: 248 TOT, 150 solo, 98 AST, 25 PD
THE TRUTH: Draft Scouts make note that Smith is faster than projected. He also has gained fifteen pounds which is probably a good thing, clocking him in at 204. I’m interested to see where Smith goes, but Draft Scouts predict he will be a 4th-7th round pick.
NO. 3 PROSPECT
NAME: Tayvion Robinson (WR)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 4th or 5th round
CAREER STATISTICS: Receiving: (142 REC, 1,958 YDS, 13.8 AVG) Rushing: (35 ATT, 248 YDS)
THE TRUTH: Robinson was considered a top 15 senior WR by over twenty teams. Draft Scouts called him a good punt returner. To me, Robinson seems like a pretty productive choice for the Kentucky Top 5 NFL Draft Prospects.
NO. 4 PROSPECT
NAME: Chris Rodriquez Jr. (RB)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 4th or 5th round
CAREER STATISTICS: Receiving: (20 REC, 116 YDS, 5.8 AVG) Rushing: (504 ATT, 3,199 YDS)
THE TRUTH: Draft Scouts say that Rodriquez is a top 5 senior RB by over twenty teams. He did receive a DUI on May 22, 2022, resulting in a lot of controversy. They also make note of his “bigtime ball security issues.” Yikes. I think this really could go either way.
NO. 5 PROSPECT
NAME: DeAndre Square (OLB)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: HPFA
CAREER STATISTICS: 300 TOT, 152 solo, 148 AST
THE TRUTH: Basically, Draft Scouts say that a draft for Square is possible, but he could also return in 2022. They also say he is a “no redshirt.” In other words, he just isn’t there yet. However, I can understand why he is almost a “wildcard” for the Kentucky Top 5 NFL Draft Prospects.
