In a heartfelt Instagram Story, Kelly posted a picture of their twin daughters, Sawyer and Chandler, 7, in a hospital bed.’ But they were by themselves that afternoon — Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 4, stayed by their sides as the family made its way through a difficult weekend.
“Last night was long,” Kelly wrote. “Back in beds and sleeping, everyone except Hunter. Feels like she drank a Celsius.” Despite the circumstances, the children insisted on traveling to Arizona to support their dad in the NFC Wild Card game, which had been relocated due to wildfires in Los Angeles.
Kelly Stafford shared how they attended the Rams game
Kelly described her daughters’ resolve: “I asked them if they wanted to go, saying they didn’t have to. Hunter asked, ‘Will it be his last game, like ever?’ I told her I didn’t know, and they all said they wanted to go.” The game was moved from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, because of the wildfires in Southern California.
Kelly also shared moments of her family cheering on Matthew, during the game. During mid-game one of her daughters, unwell, asked ‘Mommy, are we still winning?’. A heartwarming picture also showed Matthew clutching his daughter after the Rams beat the Vikings 27-9.
Kelly said, “I couldn’t have gotten through it without my husband. We have each other, and that’s all that counts.”
