Despite a multiple-possession score difference, the Kansas State Wildcats’ victory over the Arizona Wildcats took a backseat to what many fans considered questionable officiating.
Kansas State beat Arizona 31-7, but many fans thought they had every call going their way. So much so that fans were accusing the officials of having money during the week three matchup.
Fans want the Kansas State Wildcats-Arizona Wildcats officials to be investigated
While the game got away from Arizona as Kansas State was on its way to starting 3-0 for the first time since 2021, there was only a one-score deficit to be overcome by Arizona in the 3rd quarter.
Most fans upset with officiating thought Kansas State was constantly holding without getting called for it while Arizona wasn’t getting the same treatment. Fans thought it seemed like every time Arizona would have a big play it would be negated by a penalty on a questionable call from the officials.
While the majority of fans thought the officials were helping Kansas State, the on-air broadcast addressed a botched handling of the end of the second half that was in favor of Arizona.
Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson lost track of time and let the clock run out, but the officials missed a false start before the play with 11 seconds left. There would’ve been a 10-second runoff and Kansas State would’ve been pushed back five yards, but one second should have remained and Kansas State should have had a chance to kick a field goal.
It looked like Kansas State made a stupid mistake (they did) at the end of the half…but if officiated properly, they would’ve had another play pic.twitter.com/VJ8jmEJLed

Kansas State fans weren’t nearly as upset as Arizona fans given their dominant second-half performance. Arizona fans were so incensed with the officiating that they were calling for the crew to be investigated.
Arizona and Kansas State refs need to be investigated. Every play K state hold and no call. They call all kinds of barely or no holds against Arizona. This is madness. @uarizona

These refs have Kansas State spread and ML vs Arizona. These flags are ridiculous BS.

Some home cooking going on for Kansas State. Refs throwing a flag on any play with a positive gain for Arizona.

I thought the third-down play was a generous spot for Arizona, then the refs gave Kansas State a generous spot on fourth down. Tough break. Let’s see how Arizona responds… https://t.co/CZAo5orxwR
