One thing that is noticeably different about the Kansas City Chiefs offseason this year compared to last is that there are far fewer headlines about 10-time Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce and his internationally famous popstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Last summer, of course, Kelce was often in the news because of the appearances he made on Swift’s Eras Tour, which took the couple all over the world. While in London, Kelce even got to meet members of the British Royal Family as well as other celebrities.
At the time, though, the Chiefs were the defending Super Bowl Champions and gearing up to win their third title in a row. However, they were handily defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super LIX and Kelce had his worst season since 2014 (his second year in the NFL).
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Is Locked In for 2025

Heading into Super Bowl LIX, there was a great deal of speculation that Kelce, who is 35 years old, would retire after the game so that he could enjoy the rest of his life in good health and spend time with his 14-time Grammy Award winning girlfriend.
Their loss, though, changed everything about those rumors.
While rumors of a possible retirement swirled for a little while, it was not long before Kelce publicly stated that he was going to play in 2025 and that his goal was to win another title in Kansas City.
Additionally, he stated that he would be spending much of his offseason refocusing his mind and body in hopes of improving his production on the field.
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Skipped the Met Gala

Not only is Kelce laying low this offseason as he prepares for what could be his final NFL campaign, Swift is taking some time off too as her tour has ended.
When the Met Gala took place of the weekend, many wondered if the most famous couple in football would be in attendance.
They were not.
According to TMZ:
“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were invited to Monday’s Met Gala in New York City, but they could not make it work as a result of their schedules.”
Neither Kelce nor Swift have any public appearances that were scheduled during the Met Gala. This means one thing: they simply did not want to go.
And who could blame them? They have spent months trying to stay away from the attentions of the public, so it stands to reason they would avoid such a well-covered event like the Met Gala.
