Prior to starting a relationship with Swift, Kelce dated Nicole “off and on” for five years. Recently, Kelce’s ex-girlfriend opened up about how her past with the Chiefs tight end has affected her view of dating and what she allows the public to see of her personal life.
According to E News, Nicole said, “I am like John Cena now with men. You don’t see me. You don’t see me with a man. And you won’t ever see me with a man ever again until I’m married with kids.
“Some men take this as me being sneaky. But in reality, I’m protecting me, and I’m protecting you. I don’t think that I ever want to publicly date another man until I am absolutely sure that they are my long-term person. I want to protect the things that mean most to me, and sometimes when you’re a little too open and you’re a little too transparent, you open yourself up to a world of opinion, a world of entitlement.”
Kelce and Nicole broke up for good a full year before the Chiefs tight end started dating Swift. But their relationship not only has shone a spotlight on Kelce, but more people are interested in his ex too.
And while some people enjoy the attention, it is clear that Nicole does not, and that she is choosing to apply the lessons she learned from her relationship with the Chiefs star to her life going forward, and that means keeping her dating life out of the public eye.
