The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a good start this season, winning their first two games in 2024 against the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals. While the team looks even better than last year, Kansas City’s offense suffered a major blow to the offense this week after one of their star players fractured his fibula, causing him to miss the next six to eight weeks.
Kansas City Chiefs Star Injured
Running back Isiah Pacheco will miss a good chunk of the regular season after it was revealed he fractured his fibula in the game against the Bengals. Pacheco has been a workhorse for the team since joining in 2022, so his loss will likely be a problem the Chiefs need to address as soon as possible.

The good news for Kansas City is that the star running back will be likely to return at some point this season as he is set to have a surgery to repair the fibula this week. According to NFL analyst Ian Rapoport, Pacheco’s timeframe to return will depend on how he recovers from the surgery, meaning he can come back sooner than expected, or even possibly later.
Isiah Pacheco Career
The star running back has been a great addition to the offense by head coach Andy Reid. Pacheco has amounted to 1,900 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in his young career and has been a great weapon for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He has always been a dependent back for the offense if the passing game is having struggles, so replacing him will be a difficult task.
Replacement Already Found?
Rumors have started to swirl that the team could bring back their former running back, Kareem Hunt. Hunt made a name for himself in Kansas City before going to the Cleveland Browns, but he did not have the same production he produced with the Chiefs. Hunt rushed for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns in his first year with the Chiefs (2017), so signing him back could be the replacement the team needs.
Do you think Pacheco will be able to return to the action this season, or will Kansas City find a replacement good enough to fill his production?
