Kansas City Chiefs rookie receiver has been dealing with a knee injury for a while

Jalen Royals has been dealing with knee tendonitis ever since the second preseason game, which has caused him to miss the final week of training camp and the third preseason game. The rookie did not participate in practice Sunday through Wednesday, leading up to Week 1. Since the Chiefs fly out to Brazil today, the team and Royals had to decide whether he would fly with them or stay put in Kansas City.
Kansas City Chiefs rule out rookie weapon

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, Jalen Royals will not fly with the team on Wednesday as he continues to recover from a knee injury. As a result, the Chiefs have already ruled out the rookie receiver for Week 1 against the Chargers. Royals’ regular-season debut will have to wait at least another week, but the offense has plenty of receivers to rely on.
