Controversy Strikes: NFL Faces Rigging Allegations After Chargers Star Suspension Favors Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have been discredited by NFL fans for the last few seasons, claiming that the league helps them win games with late penalties. A good example is their Sunday Night Football matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, where a clear pass interference call was missed that would have likely won Atlanta the game. Now, fans are again claiming the league is rigged after the Chiefs’ next opponent, the Los Angeles Chargers, just suffered a huge punishment from the NFL.

NFL Favoring Kansas City Chiefs?

The league has suspended Chargers star safety Derwin James for the upcoming game against the Chiefs after violations of game rules intended to protect the health and safety of players, including during this Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Many fans on social media reacted to the news by saying that the NFL is just favoring the Chiefs once again by getting rid of the Chargers’ best player. James has been one of the league’s top safety’s since being drafted, and has been a key piece on the defense. The safety has been historically dominant against Kansas City, so fans called this out right away.

Los Angeles Chargers Disadvantages

Los Angeles is already at a major disadvantage in this matchup after suffering several key injuries in the game against the Steelers. Quarterback Justin Herbert, pass rusher Joey Bosa, and offensive tackles Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater are all dealing with injuries, leaving their availability for the next game in question.

Some fans think that it is no coincidence that the NFL decided to suspend James for the matchup against Kansas City, so the allegations are raining down.
