The Kansas City Chiefs have become the model franchise in the NFL. They have won the Super Bowl the last two years, recently defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime to win Super Bowl LVIII.
Now, the Chiefs are attempting to win their third Super Bowl in a row. One player who helped secure their most recent Super Bowl is set to return to the team for 2024. Read below to find out who it is.
Kansas City Chiefs to Re-Sign WR Mecole Hardman

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Kansas City Chiefs are getting set to re-sign WR Mecole Hardman. He has been on the Chiefs for the better part of five years. He also caught the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime to help secure Super Bowl LVIII for the Chiefs. Now, QB Patrick Mahomes will have a familiar face to throw the football to in 2024.
Doubts About Hardman’s Future

There were certainly reasons to be skeptical of Hardman having a future with the Chiefs. This started last season when Hardman was on the Jets. However, things were not working out in New York for Hardman.
As a result, the Jets ended up trading Hardman back to the Chiefs for next to nothing. The two teams simply ended up swapping late-round draft picks. Hardman only had 118 receiving yards with the Chiefs last regular season before becoming a Super Bowl hero.
On top of this, the Chiefs were taking active steps to improve the wide receiver position. They acquired Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and drafted Xavier Worthy. Because of these two acquisitions, it was fair to speculate Hardman may not have had a place with the team in 2024.
Kansas City Chiefs Moving Forward

So, what can we expect from the Chiefs in 2024? For one thing, there should be more than just TE Travis Kelce to throw the ball to. However, Kelce did announce immediately after the Super Bowl that he would return to the Chiefs to attempt to win a historic third straight Super Bowl. This came after wild retirement rumors surfaced for Travis Kelce.
Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Travis Kelce have been three leaders of the current dynasty the Chiefs have. All eyes will be on them next season. However, if 2023 is any indication, Kansas City should be up to the challenge.
