The Kansas City Chiefs were 14-1 entering the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, who were 10-5 on the season. With the win, the Chiefs would be able to lock up the number one seed in the AFC. Kansas City defeated Pittsburgh 29-10.
With the win, they improved to 15-1 on the season and the Steelers dropped to 10-6 on the season. The Kansas City Chiefs are now the number-one seed in the AFC. Patrick Mahomes performed well on Wednesday completing 29-of-38 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns.

After the win on Wednesday, Mahomes said after the game was over with the number-one seed being locked up:
“I told my wife I was gonna get her the No. 1 seed so we can go have that baby.”
His wife Brittany is pregnant and they are expecting their third child together. It’s exciting news for both of them.

Even if his wife wasn’t due anytime soon, the odds are that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes would probably not be playing in Week 18 against the Denver Broncos anyway with the number one seed locked up. It will be interesting to see who head coach Andy Reid decides to rest against Denver. More importantly outside of the baby news, Mahomes needs his ankle healed up as much as possible for the divisional round.
