With the new season fast approaching, training camps for all teams are also heating up. The Kansas City Chiefs are no exception as they look forward to defending their crown in the new campaign.
At a recent practice session, things got a little too intense, which forced Patrick Mahomes to play peacemaker amid a near fight involving linebacker Drue Tranquill.
Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed and the incident did not progress to anything more than a brief heated moment among teammates.
Kansas City Chiefs News: Patrick Mahomes Breaks Up Fight in Practice
A video that was posted by KC Sports Network on X, formerly Twitter, is currently making its rounds on social media. In it, Mahomes is seen pulling Tranquill away from what could very easily have been an ugly moment in practice.
HEATED 🔥

At the start of the clip, you can see Tranquill throwing his helmet to the ground as if he was ready to go. There was more pushing and shoving on the left side of the video, which seems to indicate that other members of the team were also holding another player back in an attempt to prevent what could have been a nasty confrontation with Tranquill.
It is unclear as to why the fight (almost) broke out, but what you can say for sure is that Mahomes was at the right place at the right time here.
The incident did not seem to escalate further as this looked like nothing more than the adrenaline pumping for a squad that is determined to three-peat in 2025.
